Comedy Night via Zoom on March 5 for IWD

Up for a night of laughter this weekend…..sign up for the comedy night spots still available!
Hello everyone!
In honour of International Women’s Day, the AMDSB Elementary Occasional Teachers’ Local is providing you an opportunity to join the “Hand Her the Mic” Comedy Night! It will be in the evening on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Join us for a night of laughs with some inspirational and hilarious stand up comedians.
This event is free to attend with a maximum number of attendees set. Registration is now open with the link below. Please also find the event flyer attached. We have a tentative start date of 7:00 pm, and the show is approximately 45-60 minutes long. Start time is to be confirmed, and the finalized time will be sent out closer to the event date.
Read about our featured comedians for this night below:
The comedian headlining our night is Sandra Battaglini. She is an award winning stand-up comic, actor, podcaster, writer and activist, and a two time Canadian Comedy Award winner. She appears in The Amazing Gayle Pile (NBC Seeso), Tall Boyz (CBC), In the Dark (CBS), Communist’s Daughter (CBC), and Miss Personna (Amazon). She spearheaded a grassroots movement to have stand-up comedy recognized as an art form and co-founded the Canadian Association of Stand-up Comedians that lobbies for comedian’s rights.
We will have the joy of listening to Keh Dee. After lurking in the shadows of comedy for years, she burst out onto the scene during the pandemic, hitting the online shows and honing her skills. She’s performed live in Hamilton, Niagara, Toronto and more!
Also featured is Olivia Stadler, Toronto based comedian and screenwriter. She is a television writer for Crave TV, with some of her most known work being the hit series “Letterkenny,” as well as “Roast Battle Canada” and “Literally Dead.”

You won’t want to miss this!

Thanks,
Sam
PS.
Special thanks to Niagara Occasional Teachers’ Local for hosting, and the other locals that are participating in this night as well (Near North Teachers and OT, Lakehead OT, and Elementary Teachers of Toronto).
