Attached is A COVID-19 Health and Safety Rights Guide for Education Workers that the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) has now shared on its website and through its Friday enewsletter blast. It is modelled after a similar publication by the OFL for the health care sector which it released in October 2020. ETFO staff, along with affiliates on both the labour caucus of the Provincial Working Group on Health and Safety and the OFL Health and Safety Committee, worked together to develop this publication.
A COVID-19 Health and Safety Rights Guide for Education Workers will be promoted by ETFO on its social media channels; we hope local social media channels can amplify the reach of this publication through sharing and retweeting. We are also asking locals to share A COVID-19 Health and Safety Rights Guide for Education Workers with your members through local communication channels (e.g., local newsletters, websites, etc.).
A reminder that additional information has been published by ETFO Health and Safety Services regarding the work refusal process. That information can be found in the Work Refusal Information Package for ETFO Local Leaders and Health and Safety Representatives. This resource has been available since August 2020 and can be found in ETFO Secure in the Health and Safety section (COVID-19 Pandemic sub-section).
